FAQ: your most Frequently Asked Questions about
best-muaythai-equipment.com
FAQ: What
makes you so special and why should I buy from you?
A: Regarding the commercial side of the site, the aim is to be a
virtual
shop offering only the best muay thai gear available in
Thailand...and at local
prices. Most of the tag prices you'll see on this site are equal or
even slightly cheaper than the
prices in muay thai
retail
shops outside Lumpini or Rajadamnern boxing stadiums in Bangkok. This
means that if you come here and
buy the gear by yourself, you'll probably pay the same,
or perhaps a bit more if you are not able to bargain in Thai language.
There is no such thing as a "fixed price" here, so it all
depends on your
bargaining skills. Some
items are actually cheaper on this site than in the shops as I
have a good, long term
relationship with the manufacturer, which entitles me to some
special
bargains. Shipping costs are not included, of
course, and change according to where you live and how many items you
buy. This site's target market is end-users i.e. people who train and
fight, at all levels. People passionate about Thai
boxing deserve a good choice of the best equipment
available at the moment in Bangkok, directly from Thai
manufacturers and at real prices, not yet inflated by middle-men,
importers,
wholesalers and retailers, which in some countries monopolize what is
available on the market. Often, what foreign nak muay use is ot
the best gear, only the most profitable for the importers.
FAQ: Your prices are quite high. In Pakistan and China I can get good stuff for 50% less. How come?
A:
Good stuff? How good? Maybe not so good. I also did some business in
these countries, trying to create a brand as good as the items on
this site, but at a fraction of the price. Result: a waste of time
and money. In Pakistan cowhide leather cost much less than in
Thailand, but workmanship is still very rough. After 10
months spent to create a great sample, I thought they got it
right. A pair of gloves very, very similar to the ones made by
MUAYTHAI, but substantially cheaper, almost 50% cheaper. Great!
But when I placed my first order for 100 gloves, what arrived was
a substandard product, which had nothing to do with the nice sample I
got before. A quick research with importers and muay thai
gym owners in Italy and USA confirmed the "Pakistani trick": nice
samples, sweet emails, but that's it. Regarding China, their marketing efforts are
truly amazing. They will go out of their way to get an order. And if you
visit the factories, be prepared for tons of samples, brochures,
CD-ROMs, presents and after-hours entertaining. Unfortunately, they
seem unable to understand that PVC is not PU and both materials are very
far away from cowhide. For them, a pair of 5 USD gloves is a pair of
gloves, period. That is what they sell. If the
gloves break down in pieces after one week of sparring, that's
actually good, because your customers will have to buy another pair from
you. And you wil buy from them. The business goes on and everybody makes money. Quality?
What is quality? Basically, they live for today, selling
ultra-cheap gear. The only relevant issue is price. Manufacturers
in both countries have a lot to learn if they want to last in the
long term, but at the moment they're enjoying their first-time
customers, the ones who ask the question above.
FAQ: What is
best-muaythai-equipment.com and where is it located?
A: best-muaythai-equipment.com is a dot.com company based in Bangkok
whilst the site is hosted in USA. The site is updated
frequently,
almost on a daily basis. Visitors passionate
about muay
thai will find information, pictures,
data, links etc. directly from Bangkok, Thailand. Inquiries, questions,
feedback and also
criticism are all welcome! Send me an email at manager@best-muaythai-equipment.com FAQ
FAQ: Do you
sell
wholesale?
A: Yes. Importers, distributors and retailers are
welcome. Wholesale orders do get cheaper prices (and my
personal
QC on every item) but unless
the
order has a decent size (minimum 100 pcs) and it's shipped by
sea
freight, you won't be able to make this
trade worthwhile and
you'll be better off buying from your usual
importer/distributor. In few words, and against my interests,
let
me warn you that as a small distributor or retailer the
shipping
costs (especially air-freight with couriers) will eat your profits. You
won't be competitive
against major distributors, which ship bulk volumes.
FAQ: How do
I purchase your items?
A: There is no shopping cart, on purpose. I prefer a personal relation
with whoever browse this site and perhaps decide to buy
something.
So send me an email with your inquiry at manager@best-muaythai-equipment.com and we'll take it from
there. FAQ
FAQ: Once
I've decided what I want to buy, how do I pay you?
A: I accept the following online payments: Paypal, Wordpay, Moneybookers
(for larger orders). For wholesale orders, I accept Moneybookers
and bank-to-bank telegraphic transfer (T/T). All small orders
(<10,000 THB value) require full payment before shipping,
whilst for orders whose value is greater than 10,000
THB (excl. shipping), an advance deposit of 50% is
requested
to start manufacturing. The remaining 50% plus shipping costs
must
be paid when the order is
complete and ready to be shipped. FAQ
FAQ: Do you
manufacture custom made
gear?
A: Yes. MUAYTHAI can replicate every item of your choice, if the order
is
worth the effort (min. 50 pcs). Send us a sample and we'll
unstitch it, measure it
and replicate it.
Screening on leather might be expensive if your logo
is very
detailed or very colorful, so together with your inquiry please email
me your logo, too. Thermo-screens are available and produce
amazing
results but cost about 6500 THB, so this wouldn't be
financially viable for
small orders. All the above is valid for leather gear, of
course. For shorts and vests there are no limits to your
fantasy! FAQ
FAQ: Can you
send me a free sample?
A: It depends if you are a wholesaler or an end-user. I
receive
about eight requests of free samples per week. Would you give
away
20-30
boxing gloves/month just to persuade your customers to buy them? Please
consider that cowhide grade A is expensive everywhere, here in Thailand
as well.
Factories in China and Pakistan can give you heaps of free
samples because their products are made with cheap material; they
cost very little to manufacture and
have a
short life span. I believe you can't
possibly be disappointed by the quality of the products displayed on
this site, as they're really the best available in Thailand and amongst
the best in the world. Therefore, I'll be happy to deduct the
cost
of the samples from your first wholesale order. For end-users, sorry,
there are no free samples:
I'm not a charity. Mnaufacturers don't give any freebies, even
after years of doing business together. However, I
often include
a muay
thai-related freebie when you buy something from me and you are a nice
customer. FAQ
FAQ: How
long will it take to
manufacture and receive my order?
A: For MUAYTHAI gear, manufacturing time is usually 1 week, as almost
everything is in stock. Regarding TWINS, KING and RAJABOXING
usually there
is no waiting time for the most in-demand items, like gloves,
protectors and
kickpads. For belly pads, chest protectors and other items which may
not be available
immediately, manufacturing time is 1 week. For special requests or
custom made gear, manufacturing time is 4 weeks from the date of
receipt of the 50% deposit. Shipping
time by air is 12 days maximum (worldwide), whilst by sea
freight
it is 4
weeks to USA (West Coast) and 6-8 weeks to Europe and USA (Est Coast). FAQ
FAQ: What
about the shipping
costs involved? FAQ
A: For non-wholesale orders, you will be informed of the
precise shipping
cost when
you place the order. If you buy small amounts, usually they'll
pass as samples of no commercial value so you won't pay any
import taxes. I use FEDEX for air-freight,
door-to-door
service. For wholesale orders, you'll receive a pretty
accurate estimation of the shipping cost first. The final,
correct amount will be known only before
shipping. When the goods are ready at the factory, I'll inspect them,
one by one, calculate
weight and cubic meters and then inform you. Once the
goods arrive at destination you may have to pay custom duties
and/or other fees. FAQ
FAQ: How is
my order
shipped? FAQ
A: It is entirely up to you. I can use my own account with Fedex
(Thailand), use Royal Thai Post EMS, AIR, SAL or SEA or follow your instructions.
Please note I don't deal
with DHL and UPS due to repeated bad experiences. For
large
orders I
reserve the right to charge 1500 THB to cover handling, packaging and
transportation costs. FAQ
