FAQ: your most Frequently Asked Questions to best-muaythai-equipment.com

FAQ: What makes this site  special and why should I buy from you?
A: Regarding the commercial side of the site, the aim is to be a virtual shop offering only the best muay thai gear available in Thailand...at local prices. Most of the tag prices you'll see on this site are (average) 5-15 USD more expensive than at the shops outside Lumpini or Rajadamnern boxing stadiums in Bangkok. This means that if you come here and buy the gear by yourself, you'll probably pay a figure a few USD cheaper than here. Almost everywhere in Thailand there is no "fixed price", so it all depends on your bargaining skills. I have a good, long-term relationship with every manufacturer on the site; I personally know the owners/managers, which entitles me some special "privileges" (faster delivery. customizations outside the catalog, discounts). I offer a service between you and the factory here, for which I expect to be paid a few USD per item. Shipping costs are not included, of course, and change according to where you live and how many items you buy. My target market is made of end-users i.e. people who train and fight, at all levels. People passionate about Thai boxing deserve a good choice of the best equipment available in Bangkok, directly from the manufacturers and at real prices, not yet inflated by middle-men, importers, wholesalers and retailers, which often monopolize the market and restrict the choice available. Unfortunately, what foreign nak muay use in their training is often not the best quality gear, but just the most profitable for the importers.

FAQ: Your prices are quite high. In Pakistan, China or ebay.com I can get stuff for a lot less. How come?
A: Quality is never cheap, no matter what country. And on this site you'll find only the best quality. The muay thai gear on dispay here can't be compared with the cheap gear made in Pakistan or China. It's like comparing a Jaguar with a Peugeot: they exist in different leagues, and both are legitimate products for different markets. In Thailand there are other manufacturers but they don't appear here, as they simply don't qualify to be with the best brands. As usual, there are no real great bargains with quality and you get what you pay for. The cheap gear made in Pakistan or China is everywhere, online and offline, not because it's good, but because importers and distributors can reap much larger profits. I focus on quality only so I can only sell to a niche market with high spending power.

FAQ: What is best-muaythai-equipment.com and where is it located?
A: best-muaythai-equipment.com is a dot.com company based in Bangkok. There is no brick-and-mortar shop in Bangkok: it exist only online. I don't keep stock and all orders have to be placed via email. If you're planning to visit Thailand, I can deliver to you personally (in Bangkok) after you've ordered and paid in advance. Manufacturing time is about 1 weeks, maximum 2 weeks for large orders. Visitors who are passionate about muay thai will find information, pictures, data, links, etc. Inquiries, questions, feedback are welcome!      Q: Do you have wholesale prices for retailers and gyms? Do you sell bulk orders?
A: Not really. Everybody is welcome to inquire, but after hundreds of inquiries that went nowhere, I have learned that:
1. importers, distributors and retailers should deal directly with the manufacturers. If they can give you that amazing 30-50% discounts you always ask for, you have got a good deal. Sadly, I can't, because the discont I get is minimal;
2. the majority of such so-called wholesale orders are in reality medium-sized orders weighing less than 20 Kg, therefore they are called small orders. Shipped by airmail, they become very expensive. Such kind of orders cannot possibly compete against professional importers, who buy hundreds of Kilos of gear and ship it by seafreight in 20 feet containers. So please consider revising your business strategy instead of trying to squeeze me for discounts.

FAQ: How do I purchase your items? There is no cart, no check-out? And what about payment details?
A: There is no shopping cart on purpose. I prefer a personal relation with whoever browse this site and perhaps decide to buy something. Also because one of the reasons to buy from me is to have your own customized gear, not plain stuff from last year catalog. Therefore, in this scenario a shopping cart is a limitation. To order, just send me an email with the items' codes, sizes, colors and quantities and any eventual customization. I'll reply within 12 hours with an offer inclusive of shipping fees by air mail and Paypal payment. Please write me at sales@best-muaythai-equipment.com and we'll take it from there. FAQ

FAQ: I've got your quotation, I want to go ahead with order: how do I pay you?
A: I accept the following online payments: Paypal (add 4%), all international payment services, bank-to-bank transfers or Moneybookers (add 4%). Payments are always in advance, apart from large, custom-made orders where a 50% deposit is required to start manufacturing the gear. The remaining 50% plus shipping fees will be settled when the order is complete, checked and ready to be shipped. FAQ

FAQ: Do you manufacture custom made leather gear? Can I put my logo on those gloves?
A: Yes. Only MUAYTHAI will do it for small orders, all the others won't do it. MUAYTHAI requests a minimum  of 50 pcs, of various sizes and colors if necessary. They can also replicate any item. They'll un-stitch it, measure it and replicate it. The MUAYTHAI stuff on the site can all be screened with your logo. The easiest way to proceed is:                                                                                                                             1. select the item from MUAYTHAI product ranges; select quantity, sizes and colors;                                 2. send your logo as a picture in .JPG format, possibly large resolution;                                                   3. I'll send you an itemized quotation about the items; shipping fees will not be included as shipping fees will be evaluated later on upn acceptance of the prices. All of the above is valid only for leather items.

FAQ: Hi, I'd like a free sample, please...
A: There are no free samples. Because:
1. I get nothing for free from the factories;
2. all the brands here are famous worldwide, so there is no need to evaluate what has been appreciated for decades;
3. I'm not a charity;

FAQ: How long will it take to manufacture/receive my order?
A: Manufacturing time for all brands is about 1 week, slightly more if there are national/religious holidays. Large orders, which should take longer to be manufactured, usually jump the queue, so maximum 2 weeks is a good estimation. Shipping time by air mail is about 10-12 days worldwide, 1 week for Australia/New Zealand, while by sea freight it is 4 weeks to USA (West Coast) and 6-8 weeks to Europe and USA (Est Coast). SAL, or economic airmail, takes about 4-6 weeks to USA and 6-8 weeks to EU. Also, if your order involves three manufacturers it'll probably take longer than if you order everything from one. FAQ

FAQ: What about shipping costs? FAQ
A: For orders of less than 20 Kg you will know the precise shipping cost when you receive my quotation. For larger orders, I'll need to check with shipping companies and couriers. You'll receive an estimation, anyway, before you buy.  FAQ

FAQ: How are the orders shipped? FAQs
A: The standard I use is Royal Thai Post Airmail Registered with Advice of Receipt. The parcel is registered but not trackable online; to get it, you'll have to sign an orange card, which will come back to me as a proof of receipt. So far I never lost a parcel. Alternatively, there  are EMS (with online tracking), SAL (economic airmail) or SEAFREIGHT (by ship). Please note I don't deal with DHL/FEDEX due to repeated bad experiences. For large orders I reserve the right to charge 1500 THB to cover handling, packaging and transportation costs. FAQ
