Muaythai is scheduled to possibly become an Olympic Sport and Thais are very proud of this. It's also a great tourist attraction at the Lumpini Stadium three times a week, for the joy of tour operators and various agents selling ringseats at inflated prices. Lumpini and Rajadamnern Stadiums apply a double-pricing policy so common in Thailand: in few words, the entrance ticket for Thais cost roughly 1/3 or 1/4 of the one sold to foreigners. The entrance fees at the ticket boots at Lumpini are written using the old, obsolete Thai numbers, arguably to avoid problems. If you arrive by taxi, touts will jump on you as soon as you'll open the door and sometimes even before. All they want is to sell you a ringside ticket for 2000 THB or, if you bargain, slightly less. As you'll approach the entrance of the stadium, always crowded with food vendors, aficionados, gamblers and hangers-on you'll notice the shops selling boxing equipment, advertising muay thai training, tournaments abroad, new fancy boxing equipment, DVDs, gadgets, books, memorabilia.
